What Is Mental Health Treatment Court?
Mental Health Treatment Court helps eligible individuals address mental health needs that may be contributing to their involvement with the criminal justice system.
Through coordinated treatment, court accountability, and community support, participants work toward greater stability and long-term well-being.
Bartholomew County has operated a Mental Health Treatment Court for criminal cases through Superior Court I, while a separate Assisted Outpatient Treatment Court was announced in 2025 for civil cases through Superior Court II.

Mental Health Treatment Court may be considered for eligible individuals whose mental health needs are significantly connected to their criminal justice involvement.
