Standing Up Against Stigma

Real People. Real Stories. Real Hope.

ASAP is proud to partner with Mental Health Matters and SAMHSA on Standing Up Against Stigma — a public awareness campaign designed to shine a light on the personal stories of people in Bartholomew County who have experienced mental illness. Stigma keeps too many people from seeking help, finding healing, and living well. Standing Up Against Stigma reminds us that behind every statistic is a person—a neighbor, a friend, a coworker—who deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated for their courage.

When people share their stories:

  • Misconceptions break down

  • Conversations about mental health open up

  • Communities grow stronger, healthier, and more connected

The goal of the “Rethinking Wellness” initiative is to educate adults about the importance of reassessing their current health practices and adopting sustainable habits that support overall well-being and lessen potential substance misuse.
