Breaking the Silence
Addressing Suicide Risk in Older Adults
Free workshop available now
Understand and help prevent suicide in older adults.
Suicide is not a common topic when discussing the health and wellness needs of older adults. In this season of life, however, older adults often experience anxieties related to retirement, social isolation, chronic pain, mobility limitations and feeling like a burden to others, which can lead to harmful behaviors. This informative 60-90 minute workshop is adapted from curriculums such as Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives (PEARLS). Participants will walk away with the knowledge of when and how to develop a safety plan and other steps for a safer community.
