August Recap: Building a Healthier Community, Together
Health starts with the choices we make each day - caring for our bodies, managing stress, and supporting one another. But individual choices only go so far without strong community supports. As we approach Prevention Month, we’re grateful to share all the ways we’ve been seeing our community show up lately:
Equipping Teachers for the Year Ahead
Before the school year began, Skye Nicholson of Wellbeing Workshop Co. worked with teachers on “Managing the Stress Cycle.” Our teachers carry so much, and giving them tools to reset means calmer classrooms and healthier kids (and, ultimately, communities)!
Wellness at Work
At the Cummins Tech Center Health & Safety Fair, our Prevention Coordinator Janae shared Rethinking Wellness resources with employees and families to start conversations about all the different dimensions of wellness and how balance in one area supports growth in another.
More Doors to Hope
Megan, our Executive Director, joined Centerstone to celebrate the opening of a new sober living home. Every safe space like this means fewer neighbors slipping through the cracks and more opportunities for healing.
Meeting People Where They Are
Sometimes recovery messages land best not in a clinic, but in everyday spaces. At the United Way Golf Fundraiser, Tina and Kyle sparked conversations with players and teams about how drinking less helps you be your best – on the job, at home, and even on the green!
Celebrating Milestones
We also paused to celebrate Jodie’s birthday! Because wellness isn’t just about resources and programs - it’s also about joy, connection, and showing up for one another.
Together, prevention and recovery build a culture where wellness is possible for all. This work belongs to all of us - and every step we take makes our community stronger.
