Rather than addressing a legal issue alone, these specialized court programs work to understand and respond to challenges that may be contributing to a person’s involvement with the court — including substance use, mental health needs, the effects of military service, and family instability.
Problem-Solving Courts are specialized court programs designed for people whose involvement with the justice system is connected to an underlying challenge that may benefit from treatment and additional support.
