What Is Family Recovery Court?
Family Recovery Court works with eligible parents whose substance use has contributed to involvement with the child welfare system.
Through treatment, accountability, and coordinated family support, the program helps parents work toward recovery while creating greater safety and stability for their children.
The local Family Recovery Court serves parents whose substance use has contributed to Children in Need of Services cases and has historically involved DCS, CASA and other partners in a coordinated approach.

Who May Be Eligible?
Family Recovery Court may be available to eligible parents involved in a CHINS case when substance use is a significant factor affecting their family.
Participation is voluntary and eligibility is determined through the Family Recovery Court referral and screening process. Indiana court records involving Bartholomew County have also described participation in Family Recovery Court as voluntary.
