Evidence-Based Program: A Prevention and Wellness Program for Older Adults
The WISE program empowers older adults to advocate for their own health, make healthy lifestyle choices, and navigate the use of medications and substances like alcohol.
This workshop complements our dedication at ASAP to fostering positive change, resilience, and enduring recovery within our community, in partnership with Mill Race Center.
Program duration: 12 hours of training spread out to 6 weeks

Program Objectives & Outcomes
Alcohol and Medication Processing: Increased knowledge about the ability of the body to metabolize alcohol and medications as we age.
Enhanced Well-Being and Knowledge on Aging, Medications, and Mental Health: Improvements in psychological well-being, knowledge and attitudes about aging, knowledge of the interaction between medications and alcohol, and knowledge of the early signs and symptoms of depression.
Promoting Positive Health and Healthcare Behaviors: Increase in the frequency in which participants engaged in positive health and healthcare behaviors.
Optimizing Medication Management for Improved Health: Increase in the frequency in which participants engaged in positive medication management.
